To educate the Negroes
48One year on
Changes there are so many we have seen The words ot an unknown poet rings in my ear
Once said a noble ruler Thomas Jefferson by name All men are created equal, all men are born the same.
Although taken captive and sold to men as slaves Of all the crimes recorded our history shall not tell
Of a single crime so brutal or even a parallel Changes which took four hundred years to come
One year on for us all, is but a blink of our eyes
Hope's a poem taught to me when I was just a child
We are pushing and pressing for education sake
We have lawyers, Doctors, we have nurses
A host of noble women, have bravely cross the waves
Now a president to stands like a Jewel in a crown
I pinch myself I'm wide awake this is not a dream
The 44th President he's the gem, in the rings of the world
Inspired by education, Obama reached his gold
To educate the Negroes, you unfit him to be a slave

Most of us have it better than those that went before us, but isn't that the way it should be? I know I want better for my children and grandchildren.
