Slicing the page

The first thing I'm going is to copy all buttons to create a roll over effect later. Select the home button folder in the layers palette control click or left click on the PC to duplicate the layer set. Name it on the pop up, you can call it home roll or home over it's up to you. You can then change the colour of the text. Once you have done all the buttons click the eye to turn them off.
What I going to do next is to slice up the stage, select he slice tool the one that look like a knife. Slicing is very much lick cropping, my first slice was from the top left hand corner of the banner to its bottom right hand corner. I then sliced the home button after doing all the buttons individually I went on to do all the images.
You will see that photoshop automatically create guides for the other slices. The colour of sliced are different from those that are not, be sure  slice all. The reason for slicing is because Photoshop files are large, the browser will load slices faster.
